Chinese scientists have unveiled the most detailed map of our moon to date. The pictures and information for the high resolution map has been gathered by the second probe of the Chang’e project (嫦娥, awesomely named after the mythological ”woman on the moon”), a series of missions set for exploring the lunar surface, culminating in landings of Chang’e rovers and sample return missions in 2013-2017, as well as a Chinese manned mission to the Moon in around 2025-2030 (read more).
